The seven-year business cycle is also a well-tread path, and a particularly powerful time for a thorough audit, and a refresh of your growth strategy.
For some, their reluctance to take a deep look at what’s happening, and make the big calls extends the stagnant window for far too long.
When you make it through the first seven years, there are big benefits:
- You know you can make money, and how to do it
- You’ve got clients who’ve stuck around and keep coming back
- You’re used to generating business income, and have been able to rely on it
- You don’t just have an audience, you have fans, supporters and a community
I remember when I had been established for a few years, and feeling like I had made it. People even said to me: “Most businesses don’t last their first year”
But seven+ years is a long time to be in business, and it also comes with its own set of challenges:
- After seven years, your content ecosystem can be a little haphazard, reflecting some big changes and trends that you adapted to over time
