Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?? Just kidding, I was having a Katy Perry moment. But there IS a way for your Facebook marketing to go off like a Katy Perry firework, and shine brighter than the moon, moon, moon. Here’s how…

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?? Just kidding, I was having a Katy Perry moment. But there IS a way for your Facebook marketing to go off like a Katy Perry firework, and shine brighter than the moon, moon, moon. Here’s how…
Part of the reason that FB marketing feels so hard is that the line gets blurred between business and fun on social media, ESPECIALLY Facebook. What happens is you get online, and your INTENTION is to post into FB groups and do your posting for the theme days, promoting your stuff and engaging, perhaps schedule a few FB biz page posts (you’d better be scheduling!). But then what happens is that it’s REALLY tricky not to check out your notifications, comment on a post here and there and then BOOM. You’ve lost an hour when you were only getting on for a 25min pomodoro.
MY TIP: The trick is to NOT look at your notifications until you’ve GOT TIME. Get on in the morning and do your biz stuff, and if you have time once it’s done, THEN you can look at your notifications. Don’t you DARE peek at them beforehand. That’s how you get sucked down a rabbithole and never feel like you get anything done on FB and thet you’re not showing up and posting your offers/posts in the groups you love as much as you should.
Another reason (and this isn’t the case for EVERYBODY) is that you’ve got something holding you back. Something stopping you from continuing on despite the struggles. Everyone in biz knows that it’s not smooth sailing and that the consistency you get in a 9-5 job doesn’t exist, but it does NOT mean you don’t need to be consistent in your biz! A lack of consistency is a fast-track to hating your FB marketing. It should be fun. It’s SOCIAL media.
MY TIP: Keep the social part, by all means. But…. you’ve gotta work for it, girl. You’ve gotta be consistent. If you’re not consistent, why bother? Even if you’re consistently doing a SMALL amount, its way better than being really visible and present, and then dropping off the face of the earth for 2 months. My advice is to pick a REALISTIC goal for yourself and stick to it.
The last reason is Facebook marketing can feel so damn hard is a combo of expectations and determination. What I see far too often is that people give up posting about their biz when ONE POST doesn’t go viral. Or worse, they expect that their first post will do the trick, and that they won’t have to post again. Neither of these concepts will work.
MY TIP: Be realistic with your expectations of what YOU can do, and what you should expect. It took time for me to become visible, and it’s taken WORK to stay visible. I didn’t just achieve visibility success and then sit back, and kick up my heels. No. My expectations are realistic and I am determined. I am determined to make my business a success. I am determined to be known for what I do. And I am determined not to need to work for someone else ever again.
Ever.
Are you determined?
You just gotta ignite, the light, and let it shine! Cause baby you’re a firework.
